Hi, I’m Carmen Spears and a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) located in Montgomery County, Maryland. I am also a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) in Los Angeles County, CA. My therapy specialties include Grief and Loss, Anger Management, and Trauma. I specialize in treating adults and elders dealing with anger management, bereavement and PTSD. I also work with clients whom have experienced a traumatic event(s). The treatment modalities that I utilize are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Forward Facing Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Guided Therapeutic Imagery. I pride my myself on developing an individualized treatment plan for each of my clients. I have been practicing therapy for over 10 years. After working for various counseling agencies and companies, I decided to go into private practice to better meet the needs of my clients. I received my Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. During my graduate program, I received membership into the Pi Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota which is the Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International for counselors. In addition, I am a member of the National Anger Management Association (NAMA) and the Maryland Counseling Association (MCA). I am a Certified Grief Informed Professional (CGP), Certified Anger Management Specialist II, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) too.
